... I know people taking their chess travel set everywhere they go; after I started to learn the game, I became one of those people, and it is very fun playing it in a public place, like a restaurant or coffee shop...as the atmosphere is normally happy and active... I have also played chess at the beach before, and it was with chess pieces that is small and that can easily fall off from the board - but the game itself were so enjoyable at the time, that nothing kept us from playing..not even the sand that sometimes got blewn on our board....and it was very intense games. ![]()

These people played chess in a beautiful park, and it seems that nothing will distract them.
Maybe that is what we should do, if we want to improve our concentrating skills....or just to have the opportunity to be outside (calm relaxed) to center our minds...to help us focus;
or like the following image - maybe the challenge of playing in public, with an audience, feeling the pressure, yet ..to overcome that and keep concentrating & focussing on the game...
