Hello, I'm ScienceGirl79!!! Today, I'm going to be talking about common openings in chess. You might think this is not important (to you beginners out there), but it is SO important. You don't just play a random move. So here's the first opening, the Sicilian Defense:
Although white has a 37.4% chance of winning and black only has a 34% chance, it is still important to know this.
Next up, the French Defense!!!
Personally, I don't think much of this (the cons for black is that black has a space advantage, the light-squared bishop is locked in, and it can become passive). I have never played this way in a game.
This is the Ruy-Lopez Opening, and I play it a lot:
I just love to play this opening, it is one of my favorites!!! But I usually only play it when I'm white, sometimes black.
And this is the Petrov's Defense, which I played in a game today:
I love to get my knights out first, usually, which is why I've played the Petrov's Defense so many times.
The next (and last) opening I'll be showing you is the Giuoco Piano Game: Four Knights Game. I can never spell 'Giuoco', hehe.
Yes, I also play this a lot of times!!!
So...thank you everyone for reading this!!! I got all these openings from chess.com, because it's really nice how there's a ton of openings (hundreds and thousands-no idea, actually) and it show you all of them. THX AGAIN!!!
P.S., we're going to start vote chess soon-just three more members until fifteen!!! YES!!! THANKS GUYS!!!
