Simple Programmer series on chess engines: what to include?

How is this relevant to this club & use of the site's API?
It is not specific to this site's API, although I could cover a bit about that at the end of the series. How is it relevant to the club? Hopefully this is a subject that some members will find interesting.

I would love to read this @KevinOSh
The club does have a strict "API - only" rule which is not obvious from the name of the club.
I wonder if there should be two sections in the forum - API and "Off-topic". Most clubs have this and it would be a friendlier way of treating this kind of thing than deletion?
Thank you, you guys are exactly the audience that I am interested in writing for.
The idea of an OT forum sounds like a win-win to me: allowing the main forum to focus on the API and also facilitating other conversations of interest between the club members on the OT forum.

Hello developer community!
First a quick introduction: I am a programmer and blogger. For the last few years I've been writing a series on the history of the internet, covering the year 1969 onwards, which you can find here: https://simpleprogrammer.com/author/kevinoshaughnessy/
I would like to follow this with a mini series on chess engines and online chess, starting with the earliest AI experiments through to the world champion crushing bots that we have today.
I am fairly new to chess and chess engines but find the topic interesting. I'm interested to hear which topics that you would be interested in reading about or feel are important to include. I appreciate your feedback.
