I decided to open a thread where we can discuss the finer points of the simul. My current vision for the schedule i

1: 30 Myself and few volunteers showup to make sure everything is set up.

2-2:30 player trickle in grab seats and set up their boards, converse.

2:30 Whistle or airhorn or something blows. I give an overview of the event, and expectations. Rule I am thinking of mentioning is that by the time Lito comes back to you, you will have had to have made a move in response. This is required to keep the time reasonable and their should be ample time with him going around to several games. I will also remind people to ensure their boards are setup correctly, ie kings on the efile.

Play begins.

Somewhere between 5-5:30 depending on how people are feeling, we stop for a dinner break.

6:30 play resumes.

8:30 hopefully all matches are done and we clean up and are out of there by 9.

Does anybody see anything wrong with this?

how about say first 10 moves that time control? Then maybe he can play through if you are taking too long and come back next time around???

@ForeverForwardGuy, I see what you are getting at. Maybe we should do it based on number of players remaining as that will directly correlate to his cycle time? Also makes it more of a team effort.

I don't know. I mean I will likely be one the first losses lol I just figure if he's ready and you aren't he should move on to the next board.  Are people only playing one game? For me thats not a lot of value for $10 and likely lose in ten moves......

I am thinking we set-up some mini-tournaments for the people that get knocked out early. If we have time to do more than one I would be down. I don't know if Lito would be. We will also have to come-up with some sort of prizes. Everyone who comes should get something, a goody bag or something like that. People who manage a win against Lito will get something bigger.
