Yeah I agree, I think we should have different times each week
Eg:
5 PM PST one week
11 AM PST another week

How about changing it to 10am CT because I work afternoons? No way can the time be adjusted for everyone's convenience., but rotating times on occasion and possibly more weekend tourneys sounds like a good idea, that's if players show up to play.
8 pm ET is not very late at all. Unless you have to wake up very early (5 AM ET) then you shouldn't be very tired by then, especially considering it's summertime, during which kids like you and I often sleep till 10 AM.
wait are we talking about monday one
it doesn't matter what day it is, 5 PM PT always equals 8 PM ET

We're not going to do rotations. The M/W/F Open events are scheduled on the backend and last time I requested the U1450 sections to be auto-scheduled, I was told they wouldn't be added and had to be manually entered. That precludes making changes to the schedule of the opens.
As to the timings, no time is going to be good for everyone. The Monday 10|0 is at 6 Eastern and the Wednesday and Friday events start at 8 Eastern; only the 15|10 has a significant event length of those.
The Saturday events are at 2 Eastern. Only the Monday 5|0 is at a really late hour.
I understand the challenges in running a schedule that will please everyone. For me, the Monday 10 p.m. Central and the Saturday afternoon 1 p.m Central times already on the calendar work quite well,. Perhaps the solution is for other clubs to provide the variety that folks want.
Every chess.com us chess rated tournament is at 5:00 pm pacific time.
No, that's just not true. There are five tournaments per week, and only two are at that time. One is later and two are earlier. If 8pm Eastern is too late for you, I would suggest doing the 6pm Eastern tournament on Mondays and/or the 2pm Eastern tournament on Saturdays. Problem solved?
I mean, we aren't going to move all the tournaments to 2pm Pacific just to suit your preference. That would be kind of ridiculous.
Moving the time, would not be better. Why are you trying to fix something that is not broken? The good tournaments to play in are usually at three or four in the afternoon.
The other downside to rotating tournament schedules is that I believe we would see general tournament participation numbers decrease. It's usually harder to consistently get good turnouts when the times are more varied. We would likely see more unique participants per tournament but less total participants. I have a lot of schedule conflicts with the current times as well, but would not recommend rotational scheduling. Earlier tournaments work better for me, but I have a feeling there are plenty of people who prefer the later tournaments for their schedules. Thanks for all you do @Martin_Stahl!
Every chess.com us chess rated tournament is at 5:00 pm pacific time. But what about the people on eastern? I cant play any because by then im done for the day and even though i can play some i still wouldn't do very well cause i would be tired. Something needs to be done about this. even on pacific time though you are probably getting dinner. in fact its everyone in the US's dinner time. so why would you have such late tournaments? i propose that the United States Chess Federation Move it three hours earlier. please post your opinion underneath also some admin pls read this only you can do something abut this.
