I left because I wasn't enjoying the playing environment. imo Sooner is out of touch with the people in the club, but I'm not going to try to get him to change his mind. Life is too short. :)
I agree with judass. No good will come of arguing with him about it. He's made up his mind.

You know, I always try and see the best in people, even people over the internet, but I have to say that Sooner is really getting on my nerves. I mean, we were winning every single game in vote chess with 100% vote consensus, and our tactics and play were outstanding. Then all of a sudden Sooner comes in and tells us that we were hogging the vote chess games, and being rude and unfair, and that he's taking charge now. Even after Elindauer and Hsb quit that vote chess game, I stayed in a while and tried to reason with Sooner that our way worked best. It got to a point where he just said "The discussion for this move is closed" and every time I tried to say something, he would just put up the same message over and over again. I have now quit the game and the group. I don't think Sooner really understands what he's lost by letting you guys go from the team. I sorta wish I'd stayed a member and just watched them play the game out. I sort of hope they'll lose. He'll realize this soon enough, though. I doubt there's a bunch of people like us who will spend our time analyzing each move in such detail.
I can't believe he actually booted you, Gowda, that's insane--seriously! It seems like the guy has some serious totalitarian issues. It's sort of like a few intelligent guys sitting in a room playing chess and having a good time, and then suddenly an army tank comes crashing through the side-wall, and tells us we've got to clear out. I find that whole thing seriously messed up. I mean, it's just a game, for crying out loud. I've got better things to do with my life than try and deal with some new-kid-on-the-block, who thinks he knows better than us. That's why we started this group! And I'm hopeful that Sooner won't be invited to join, lol.
I was one of the first members of The Chess Club. I have seen it grow because of the time Sooner has put into it. I hate to leave that club so I have not decided to do so yet. I do agree it is his club. And we can all move on now. I have dropped out of the vote chess games. I can see what you see BB. Thanks for the invite to this one, as I have learned more with you all than any other time I have played in any team matches with any group. So lets study, learn and then challenge The Chess Club. lol :)

Sorry you guys got booted, I think that's a loss for that club. No need to make our group "anti-Sooner"... let's just have fun and forget it. It was a weird way to get here but I'm very happy with the group we have and the way everything has turned out in the end.

Just saw that elin's quit the Chess Club. What happened?
Sooner has been behaving like one military army general nowadays and interfering with the way things were going on. His news item to group asking everyone to vote was completely idiotic.
I had a chat with him somedays after that to sort out the matter. He was rude and stubborn and thinks we have been dominating and not allowing others to participate. Frankly speaking, I just want to lose that game just for the way he treated us.
And Sooner privately messaged me this. It was weird.
