Spell Chess - Why is this checkmate?

In this game here, at the end, I thought that if it is white to move, and he has the jump spell available, then could use the jump spell on his own king and take my queen with the rook.

This should be possible, right?
Of course, this would mean that the chess engine would kind of have to calculate moves in which the king is able to get out of check in order to determine whether or not the game can continue, which in spell chess may be a bit much, but technically we already do the exact same thing in normal chess, so in my opinion I don't think this should count as checkmate.
Thoughts?
Also why can't I insert the game as a chess diagram thingy? I tried pasting the url but it doesn't work :/

Doesn't work with variants. As for your issue, will have a look!

It is now listed as only a check

Yeah that's a glitch. Even the move notation says that's check.

The issue may have been because of your jump recharging immediately after the check. I'll test to see if I can recreate this issue.

Spell chess has way too many untested mechanics and unintended bugs in its current state. I think we should've done more testing but maybe variants devs were pressured to release it ASAP because of the Chess.com x CoC collab

Agreed, that's a glitch.

Your jump wasn't charged

Wait nevermind that's a glitch

i cheked and you can play the jump spell on the bishop.
