Spreading God

Anyone see where I went wrong ?:

Well Thanks Tom. I am Seren...Ren for short. I am 45. I am married. I am a mother. My son is 19 and he is a classical musician. I was a clinical psychologist for 20 years. Now I work with animals.

First of all Jesus Christ. Yes of course I believe he existed. He was Jew from Gallilee who worked with wood, made furniture, chairs, Tables etc. Some historians believe he had a sense of humour and loved to make chairs that when his friends would sit in them they would collapse. I think he was a man of great wisdom and a man of peace. But he was aklso a political activist..like Ghandi, Like Luther King. I think he was a man who saw injustice in the way Rome treated his countrymen and in the way the powerful Jews were in cahoots with them to the expense of his people. He spoke up against it. And they didn't like it. They chose the weakest member of his group and used him to betray Jesus. The Senior Jews wanted to get rid of him and made him out to be a terrorist. Pilate saw he wasn't a bad guy and tried to palm him off on Herod who was an idiot. So he was thrown back to Pilate who didn't want him crucified. But he was forced into it. So Jesus was murdered and that was that. Evertthing else has been made up by men.

So sure Jesus said a lot of good things. he was one very brave and wise dude. They were all said before him but he seems to have the copyrite. Fair enough. But I don't buy the God thing. I just don't Tom. Never have.

And I have to take you to task on the idea that there are only "A few"..who have abused religion. It's whole lot more than a few mate. We're are talking about literally millions of people who have been slaughtered, abused psychologically or physically or oppressed in the name of "God"..No Tom I absolutley do not believe in god..any god. I have already explained my position.

How about we leave it at that. You enjoy your faith. You seem like a very nice young man. Stay that way. But of you are going to be a proselytiser..a brave Christian soldier..good for you. Just be prepared to face a lot of metaphorical lions. And remember atheists are the least of your problems.

Promises of some kind of "paradise" in the afterlife if you be good, do what you're told and don't question those in authority. Put up with all the preposterous crap they put on you and you will be rewarded when you die..Sit at the the feet of Jesus?..70 virgins?..Eternal Nirvana..it;s all the same. Pie the sky when you die..It's a dirty lie. 2. To control the sexuality and reproductive power of women. Yes there has been sone good work done by religious people for the poor and underprivilidged. There has also been a bloody hell of a lot done by non religious people as well. You don't need God to be good. But I tell you there has been more inhumanly bad things, cruelty, death, torture done in the name of religion than anyting else I can think of. Bad people do bad things. Sometimes even really bad people can do good things. But for good people to do really bad things..That takes religion. What do I believe in?. I believe in the majesty of the human spirit. I believe I am a good person. I don't lie, cheat, kill, torture, steal or try to take people's dignity from them. I try to treat others the way I want to be treated. I try to share what I have. I try to be tolerant and kind. I rthink I am good mother and wife. I try to improve my mind at every opportunity. And I believe that when I die, that it will be the same as before I was born. I will no longer exist. That's it..nada. But I will have existed. And my afterlife will be the legacy of what I leave behind. Everything I have written, said. Everyone I have loved and who loved me. Every decision I made, every step I took, every move I made and every cake I baked. People will remember me hopefully with love. And that is more than enough for me. How about you? I don't think you really went very wrong anywhere, but I do think there are more tactful was to share the gospel.

One way I like to do it is to say, "Good game, and God bless." After I finish a game, I leave the door open to talk about it if they feel like it. It isn't the most direct way, but it can work... I think... No one has really ever said anything in return to me yet, to be honest. ;)
