yes it is playable. it locks in the fianchettoed bishop on g7 and makes it difficult for it to develop. i made rybka 4 play itself stonewall vs kings indian and 75% of the time the stonewall crushes the kings indian so yes it is playable but can make the games longer and more complicated.
Stonewall vs Indian defense?
Now im wondering how to attack as black in this position? Monster do you have any idear how to attack as black in this possition in the stone wall play.. I usually play King's-Indian-Defence against the d4! I find the stonewall killing my possition and locking down my black bishop very well. The main probelm i tend to find in this stonewall thing is that the whole queen side would get locked up and black would have a incredible dissavantage! Monster do you have any defence for black in this sort of position?
This postion exactly? shown here? or different situation? If the one shown here black can play c5 then Qc7. Perhaps b6 planning a5 then Ba6 trading the off the light squared bishop which is needed depending on your attack or variation on the stonewall. once the light squared bishop is traded off the game becomes equal but will a while to get your kingside bishop to the act. The black bishop on g7 is sometimes used as a defence or resistance agaisnt the stonewall. Honestly i have trouble playing agaisnt the stonewall using Kings Indian Defense. the game gets to closed and difficult to open. My grandpa beat me a few times playing the stonewall and i was using the Kings Indian. I will say yes its hard but my biggest sugesstion is to trade down and equalize in this position. Do NOT weaken your kingside in anyway for as you may already know the stonewall is famous for kingside attacks. But as I said just try to equalize in those positions. Me personally would never play Kings Indian Defense vs stonewall as black anymore.
I like this attack and have had some success with it after joining this group. Is it possible or recommended to play this system against the indian defenses, particularly the king's indian?
