Strong(er) King Play

I'm sure most of us have seen Code Geass so i'm going to try not to summarize the show.

When Lelouch plays chess he leads with his King. His theory is 'If the King does not lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?'.

Well in search of bettering my King play, namely in the end game but, perhaps some middle game play may arise. I found this article. If you guys are also interested, take a look. 

Also, if you see anything books, articles, etc. on the subject post it to this forum for the benefit of everyone.

It can be done in a late middlegame and in an endgame. I know, cause I do it all the time.
