Hi guys. I have been stuck in the 900-1100 rapid elo for a long time. Does anyone know how to improve quickly? My goal is to get to 1300-1400 by the end of the 2025 year. Tips please?

Thanks,

Stop blundering, if you stop you probably will become at least a 1600

How I got past that level is always be aware of your opponent's purpose after every move. You have to assess their threat and if it's not dangerous and/or if they don't have an actual threat, then (at least at the 1000 level) make a move that improves your position that also doesn't hang a piece

How much time do you have to commit to reaching your goal? If you can only set aside a few hours a week then a coach would be probably the best way to reach your goal. If money is preventing that from happening then I would suggest finding someone that is higher rated then you to have as a study buddy. If you have a ton of time but no money then go with some kind of video course or books to study.

After you finish your opening, ask yourself what your opponent is trying to do with their move. If you are safe, then look for ways to go to your opponents side of the board and look for checks, captures and attacks. Consider checks first. If not, prepare to go to your opponents half of the board. Also, if there is a piece on/putting preasure on your side of the board, try to trade it off.

I think you should start learning openings, do puzzles, and practice typical middlegames/endgames. Puzzles and learning openings have really helped me.

Play mass amounts of games and puzzles with help with endgame. AND DO NOT MAKE MOVES WITHOUT THINKING!!

Also, your goal at the end of the year should be higher than 1300-1400 because 1000-1400 are basically the same level but 1400 have a bit more solid skill, but overall not much differenc e in skill.

If you follow the things i listed yesterday, 1600 should be no problem

The way that I got past it was doing lots of puzzles everyday (I did survival puzzle rush), studying openings/endgames when I could (Naroditsky has really good stuff for this on youtube), and analyzing every game you play as in depth as you can. Everybody learns differently, but if you put the time in the rating will come at some point. Hope this helps!

How To Reassess Your Chess by Jeremy Silman (IM) has really helped me.

Getting a chess coach is a really good way to get your ELO up.
