And castling is also forced. As soon as it becomes legal, you must castle.
Good idea

I think that a couple of those rules have problems
2 if you say this, you also need to force captures or at least pawn captures
4 you can't always see a checkmate
5 sounds wacky, but interesting
1 and 3 are great ideas to have as options
2: Only En Passant counts as forced, regular captures are not forced
4: it does not matter if you see mate in 1 or not, if you can checkmate in one then the only legal moves you have are checkmate moves
5: thats a Alternative if chess.com dont add new pieces
1: Custom Promotion: you can make custom promotions for non pawn variants pieces
2: Forced en passant: en passant is actually forced (you cant enable this rule if “no en passant” is enabled)
3: moves per turn: how much moves players can do in their turn (default: 1)
4: forced checkmate: if you can checkmate your oponent in your turn then you must do it
5: changing pieces: you can change the moves of pieces that already exist using Betza notation (check this: https://www.gnu.org/software/xboard/whats_new/rules/Betza.html)
1 is necessary for implementing Shogi and other miscellaneous variants
2 is not as good of an idea as having all captures forced unless you compensate for the Pawns being easier to eliminate in some way
3 is necessary for implementing Marseillais variants
4 is covered by forced check, which also has a real effect on gameplay
5 can partially be covered by allowing for composition of existing fairy pieces

2: Only En Passant is forced and its Rare
4: Forced Checkmate rule is different from forced check
5: Being able to create our own fairy chess pieces is a better option but if chess.com is never going to add that option or more pieces then the option of changing pieces that already exist is a good option

2: that’s the weakness of the rule, it’s too easy to steer the game in a direction where it just doesn’t come up
4: but that massively disfavors forced checkmate, which only aids in recognizing checkmates with a fairy piece you are using for the “first” time.
