Suggestion: Variants ratings on user profiles

I don’t know if this suggestion should go in this group or in the beta test group, but here it is.

On people’s profiles, you see their various ratings (including bughouse!).

I think that at the bottom, there should be a variants section (with the variants icon), and it would list the variants that you’ve played (it would say something like “Teams, 3+, King of the Hill,… and 4 more”), but it wouldn’t show the rating right there. You’d have to click through to see all the different ratings. Alternatively, it would be a twirl-down menu and you could see all the variants ratings right there without clicking through.

I just find it a little annoying how hard it currently is to find out someone’s variants ratings.

Hello. Variants server is totally different sub of main chess.com. It won't affect main site; so Probably no. still it is up to admins to see f they can negotiate on chess.com owners with it or not.

Yes. Probably the best alternative we could get is to create profile pages in the variants server and add  ã link to it if the variants owners can negotiate. Would be pretty nice feature though.

@spacebar and @GiliamDatema (aka the admin @GDII) are both chess.com staff. Yes, Variants is separate from the rest of chess.com, but it is not like it was made by a different company.

The problem is making the code compatible and most likely merging chess.com/play and chess.com/variants in the very far future.

The problem is the crowding of ratings; since the ratings on chess.com/play only include standard and the basic 2P rule variants (like KOTH, 3-check, Crazyhouse, etc) and Bughouse.

Main problem will be merging KOTH and Three check rating.

Some elite player like @Tenthousanddays never uses chess.com/variants; So It will be unfair to reduce his three check rating.

also mixing two codes might not be interesting work.

If this site can make politics a priority, it can certainly make ratings readily seen.

Yes I am completely in your support.

post this link to chess.com support and tell them how many players are waiting for this update

Aviral_10

I am in support of you

I want a update also in which I can post variation chess boards in forms/blogs.

GiliamDatema

Adding some Variants ratings to the user profile is on our agenda, though other things have priority at the moment.

Mission successful 👍
