Tactics Trainer

As I mentioned, I play a lot of TT problems, probably average about 20 a day. I often comment after the problem and read other comments. Because I have been doing this so long, I recognize about 6 or 8 others who also play a lot and comment a lot. We are a TT community talking to each other in a sorta random way.

I see a few comments that really stand out. One was from a guy that I don't know, but his comment was great. He saw the solution and said, "Not nearly as good as my elaborate plan to win a pawn". Surprised

Yea that's a good one! Smile

Here's another funny comment i once read. This one was on a puzzle that involved Queening a pawn. It said:

"Mouse slip. Who would ever promote to a Bishop?"  Surprised Laughing

It seems that the chess.com people have finally corrected the most common complaint about Tactics Trainer.

It used to be that if you got the correct solution but were too slow you lost points. I didn't read any offical announcement that it has been corrected, but when i plaay now if I take a long time and still get the correct solution, I get +1 point. Smile

That is a big deal to me.

Here's another funny comment from someone else I read after a TT problem.

This problem consists of nothing more than knowledge that a bishop can move backwards.  Regretably, it took me more than 3 minutes to remember how a bishop moves.  At times like this, I consider giving up chess altogether.

My TT score is now the highest ever. I am not sure why. I know they have reently made some changes in the TT problem value/scoring system. I really don't know if that is the cause of my higher score or not.

Anyone else see any big changes?
