Taskinen vs. ChiefJab

ChiefJab challenged me to an unrated daily game, so I decided to experiment with a d4 opening (I am all-out e4 player). My inexperience with d4 setups lead black to quickly equalizing in the opening and actually getting a better position for mid-game. However, couple strategic errors and one mistake for black allowed me to equalize soon after. Eventually black neglected some development and went too aggressive, getting his knight trapped, which eventually gave me the material lead and initiative to finish the game in a fairly secure fashion.

It was a fun game, here is a fairly quick analysis of it!

ChiefJab, what were your thoughts about the game?

32. Rc8 is why I play chess haha, would have loved to see that. It was a nice win either way though, congrats. And well played ChiefJab

Thanks for your analysis but I'm using my phone and I can't do the editing as you've done.

I will later post my thoughts alongside the move number. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello guys, I'm going to write my thoughts as I played through the game.

1.d4 Nf6...i played nf6 so that I can meet the London with c5 and go after b2, which is what happened.

4...Qxb2 I just thought I'd get the c5 pawn later on.

5.....e5 trying to get development with tempo

8....Qa3 prepares to return my queen home whiles eyeing the c5 pawn.

13...f5 I didn't want the Bishop looking at my king

14...my thoughts were to develop my bishop and start trading

21...i didn't really think about this move

23...yh, and it happened .The consequence of my knight move

24...now back rank issues.

25...thinking I could save my knight and not looking at my opponents best reply.

28...i totally went to defensive mode and my thoughts couldn't go beyond defending and the rest is history....

Thanks, would really appreciate your comments.
