In my game against Mennella, I allowed a strong move Bb4 when I have to part ways with my light squared bishop. This is very bad in an IQP position where attacking the kingside is the order of the day. Mennella builds up a nice advantage with his more active pieces but then he inexplicably trades his powerful light squared bishop.  The game becomes level and I entered an ending that seemed to offer two results for me. James didn't keep my king away from his pawns and I won a pawn and the game.

Ball invests time placing his Bishop on c3 only to trade it for the Nf6.  This constitutes a serious waste of time and gives Black the bishop pair and a nice advantage.  Marius works against an overextended center and wins a pawn and David resigns on the spot.

In Fellinger - Mazzotta, both players reel off theory for 12 moves in the Alekhine opening. This game was hard to follow and remained level until Fellinger decides to try and open lines with a dubious pawn sacrifice in 39.c4 and lost the thread of the position and the game. The move a6 was suggested several times by the silicon up to this point to balance the position.

By trying to keep his pawns in tact, Paschal gets his queen sniped by King's bishop. Armed with 2 pieces for the Queen he very aggressively plays for an attack and by move 32.Rc1 is given equality by Komodo!!  Gay plays the very natural looking 34.Re6+ but with 34.Rh1! Qd3 35.Rc8 Kd7 36.Rc7 Kd8 37.Nc6 Ke8 38.Rc8 Kd7 39.Rc7 Ke8 the draw by perpetual is secured! Paschal is able to win back the queen with a cute tactic but it doesn't matter because King just makes a new one and wins the game.
