some of the best forks are the most common, like a knight threatening a king and a rook at the same time. the rook and the king will have stayed on their squares. another is the bishop and rook fork also including a knight and both staying on their squares. as for a mate, you can try Fool's Mate where a knight is also involved. The king is surrounded by friendly peices but when the knight puts him in check he will not be able to escape.

@05-10 It's decent, but the whole idea of the sicilian is to not let white have a perfect center, and the Alapin is just like "No U". Idk about you, but I just love the concept. Not trying to argue or anything, just sharing why I love it.

Yeah thats true, im more of a person to trade a lot and gambit things so its truly just personal preferance
