Slight question/suggestion on aborting games. Sorry if this is the wrong place. Why is it penalized? I joined a game I thought was teams, and ended it when I joined and it was FFA. I lost seven points, slightly annoying. I think I aborted too many 1/4 0 games, due to not moving, maybe for my connection, I don't remember? Maybe could be changed slightly. It's not a big deal, but this might be able to be changed? I don't know. Thank you!

@HSCCCalebBrown thanks for asking. Having a game abort is an annoyance to the other players who have joined the queue. It's penalised to prevent abuse by trolls. Currently the degree of penalisation is a function which takes into account several factors, but most notably, how frequently you abort games. More frequent aborter = higher rating penalty per abort.

a 7-point penalty is higher than average. Don't abort so much, and the amount will decrease.

Apparently my abort rate was so high that I lost more than I would've if I had gotten 4th (in FFA)... so yes don't abort, every abort is one step closer to losing a heckload of rating.
You start at -0.5, then it might be -0.7 (rarely), -5, -7 (or so), -11, -13, and then idk because I'm not going to test that.

@grable thank you for your response. You could perhaps factor in time between and temporary play bans more heavily. Though I don't know how well the current system works. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
