I'd guess the admins are too busy to care about random chats in a random variant. After all, it is CHESS.com, not <insert variant here>.com

Here's the link to the game if anyone's curious about our "teaming" strat

That's very common thing I see in game chat. A lot of people forget that while the rules are against people from suggesting moves in chat, they are not for soft teaming which is very engraved in all 4pc games. It's understandable tho to be frustrated by soft teaming since It can end your game on the spot.

So what my opinion on this is that if a player is losing and saying everyone else is teaming, it's just rage that they can't keep inside of themselves, there's no intentional toxicity IMO because rage is pretty hard to keep in, especially noting that some variant players are younger than some of us. Usually in this case try not to make the player raging even angrier or just not chat at all. Remember: don't troll an angry player who's raging, and everything will be fine. An example in this case would be something in PeteNov's game or https://www.chess.com/variants/4-player-chess/game/88299537/228/2.

Now a different case. If a better player calls you or someone else a noob in every game they see you (or a different player), and continuously harass you or another player, in that case you should go ahead and report the player who is harassing. An example of this type of harassment would be like if the highest rated player cusses at the lowest, calls him a noob as well as other things, and keeps targeting the lowest rated player even after the game and future games. In that case, you should report that player.

This is huge, I think. It's not really possible to play 4pc at high levels (it seems) without soft teaming. It appears even in fully anonymous games.

I only see standard coop/take advantage tactics in the game lol.

I don't think so. There are mods dedicated to variants.

@Timevetrian those are some interesting points on the subject of 4pcs games. The second point (discriminating against low level players) from what Ive seen is varient dependant. For example raji its rare. But on ffa 4pc and war for throne its more common.

@birdseed do you mean that soft teaming is a problem at the high level?

Hi all, by now some of you guys have figured out that the game chat on cc is free for all and anything can be said out loud. To say there are just insults is a understatement, it's more emotional blackmail, arrogance, the disrespect of new players, childish abuse and talking about teaming in chat. So after all that you think you can report them, we'll Ive only seen "teaming in chat" getting mutes; evening else you can do f all about it.

Please feel free to share your experiences.

im a child tho and i dont experience this

(I'm obviously not birdseed) BUT I do not think it's an issue or problem. Its the way the game is played. It is just what happens. Yeah it sucks when it happens against you, for sure, but it's not an issue.

Exactly what PeteNov said. I don't think it's an issue. I almost think it's necessary: the only way to prohibit soft teaming would be to ban moves taking advantage of someone else's mistakes, which... isn't really how to play chess.

I think if a move or series of moves would happen in a fully anonymous game, it's legit. There doesn't seem to be any other line to draw that isn't subjective and prone to biases.
