I couldn't relate the content of the picture to the content of the citation :)

Well, Nickola, to me it feels like this: The world is in deep crisis. After some decades of relative (western) prosperity, our debt driven (borrow, consume, then borrow some more) model of growth, is coming to an abrupt end. This crisis is decimating the middle class, while poverty and unemployment, not to mention an absurd and ever increasing inequality, is destroying people’s lives.

Economics, a pseudo science in my humble opinion, was never much help. Not only did economists fail for so long to see that all this was unsustainable (and most of them still do not understand or will not admit where the real problem lies), but when they did, it was hopelessly late. Policy decisions relying on economist’s analyses are like trying to drive by looking at the mirror – by the time you see the canyon, you have already fallen in it.

Hence the allusion – empty coffee shop chairs at the heart of the Champs Elysees, a place that should be brimming with Joie de vivre… And an implied, related to this, entire question, from the headline on the newspaper at the front, which reads “Justice est faite”, i.e. Justice is done. Well, is it?
