the game that put a bind on my 1600 rating

Take a look at the position on move 6 after 6...Bb7. Maybe I'm giving your opponent too much credit, but this looks like they are playing the solid hedgehog pawn structure with Black. This is either a coincidence from them pushing pawns, or the more likely, I suspect that they "learned" this setup and have been trying to implement it.
The problem for Black (partly because they haven't really played this opening best so far I'd say) is greatly their lack of piece development. They have developed one piece while you have four developed (d2, c3, f3, f4 pieces versus b7 piece).
Black's position remains flexible and is better than it looks, but Black does seem a bit too eager to push pawns as a few of the next moves display as well.
14...Kd8? I'm pretty sure was a mouseslip. White recently castled and tucked their King safely away, so Black probably tried to castle Queenside and misclicked ...Kd8 instead. This also explains the next few moves of ...Kd8-c8-b8 [Ka7 came later] and basically trying to castle by hand.
I felt confident enough to try to play another rapid game today
