Thanks for the kind words Cedrik. Yea I didn't mention Prezident Putin because he was just a small time come and go character. He is no longer on chess.com and was not a memeber of the Intellectuals for very long.
The History of The Intellectual Chess Players

Dear Rocky, thank you for your positive evaluation of my activity of vC HERE. I am formally a member of many teams, active in vt in several teams and really happy only here and in the Lotus team. i left several teams when the admin was arrogant, or undisciplined, usually weak early (often blunder) voters like UZHEGOV.
Long live ICP!

Short comment how I got NM. About 30 years ago I was awarded by a fellowship of the Univ. of Washigton and spent a year working in a lab in Seattle. I was also playing chess there. I played well in that time and I won about 90% OF GAMES. i PLAYED e.g. ALSO WITH IM Donaldson BUT i LOST THis GAME. My US elo was 2249. Recently somebody asked me if I was C.H. with this rating and I could ask for NM titel. I did it and after some administration I became NM AND GOT free diamind membership. But nowadays I am not so strong.

Hi!
Sorry I'm late to this but I've been crazy busy with work and teaching is a stressful war!
I'd like to start my dude Dude as he has created an epic description of all this; turning it into an episode of Lord of the Rings... l can see why you like Tolkien so much!
The history of the page, like any other history, is not so shiny when it happens especially to those experiencing it. A comedy is a tragedy if you are participating in the act. But still l should tip my hat to this dude guy!
My becoming a member of the group happened when I accidentally found out about VC games while wondering aimlessly among chess.com tabs, tired of being beaten in speed chess.
So l contributed to a couple of games and realized l had to be a salesman and sell my ideas to uninterested people who just wanted to communicate with others and maybe make some moves in the process... nevertheless l enjoyed the teamwork!
Then joined this huge chess.com group and tried to play as many games as possible! This was the new gig for me :-) it was fine till
In discussing my moves with people over there, since my motto is something like: "if all fails at least speak your mind..." quarreling with one of the damn admins
well... he kicked me out of the group!
I was pretty disappointed! And rejected all invitations, since joining any group is kinda against my "values" anyway! :-)
And I got this one from my friend awesomechess. Anyway, although the name was appealing, l was doubtful since groups rarely do what they advertise. I asked her some questins and liked the answers! It's always been "let me be my crazy self" for me...
And one day awesome made us admins to the group which was great cause because of some arguments with some people l was about to quit my games the night before...
So got in and helped save some games and the discussions were fun... fun for me! Some of the guys still not talking to me... :-)
It was before Elroch, Moonwalk and those guys era... who chaned our "poems" into flawless games which stopped being fun for me somehow...
We've had out twists and turns for a small group l would say. It's been a good ride! I'd love to spend more time with you guys and discuss some vote games...
Let's see...
It's interesting how intelligent intellectual people have so much in common with crazy ones!
In any case,
Cheers to us all!

I think you mean 76% flawless.
I understand what you mean about being put off but wish it wasn't so. Do some analysis, pitch in some ideas and you may find it fun!

Hi Elroch,
I said that as a joke which you spoiled... again! :-):-) But the fact is that l had to really put up with all different challenges of becoming a teacher and it's a huge shame for me that I had to give up chess, writing, my 'facebooking', photographing and all the other stuff l enjoyed as hobbies to make a career...
C'est la vie, right? _hope not!
Glad to see your response man ;-)

I am trying to find out what the charter of the group is. The history of my involvement is beginning to become a little clearer to me over the past few years, and my relationship to religion, which for some reason to me is involved in being intellectual. I have a chip on my shoulder about religion! Anyway, today I was reading the little description where it shows the image and it says "I am interested in mathematics, chess, computers, music ..." and I am not sure if that is written by JustADude80 or by AwesomeChess1729 (nobody can notice 1729 without digressing to Ramanujan's Uber ride.)
Some discussions will never end But everything eventually ends
But in some religions, it comes back again

Hi Cavatine. Good to hear from you. That description of the group was written by Awesomechess1729.
I hope you can resolve your issues with deep questions. Be aware that Anthony Bourdain fought all those questions for years and in the end he was so far from God that the world defeated him. We don't want that to happen to anyone else....
Good job Rocky! I hope I didn´t miss it, but could you mention the cheater Prezident Putin? I have asked the Chess.com to check him.
And to the game with Czechoslovakia. Unfortunatelly my colleagues didn´t support my suggestion and voted the move which was too optimistic
.But you played very well.
