Thanks fb. I hope you are well.
The History of The Intellectual Chess Players

Human behavior in the online world is interesting, including trolling and cheating and those who desperately try to counter such unwelcome behaviors and impose order in such a rebellious frontier that internet is.
At least you made efforts to investigate before judging. That's an appreciated trait. A true intellectual is more keen on knowing than assuming. It's rather rewarding when you actually see evidence in front of you.
Usually players are banned by algorithms with no human investigation or explanation. Sadly, often also unjustly (resulting from malignant reporting by losers, or the machine's blindness at what constitutes an insult and what doesn't). I don't think cheating can ever be fully eliminated in an online environment, but there are some signs that can be noticed. (Blindly copying Chesscom's own engine's suggestions or having a second window open from a known chess engine site are probably the easiest for the AI to spot.) Having said that, there are also very poor detectives among the players. They would, for example, report someone for alleged cheating if a low-ELO player beats a far higher-ranked player. Should not take too much intellectual power to deduce that a cheater's ELO is likely to be inflated compared to his real skills. Meanwhile, a suspiciously low ELO is usually a result of something else: the player has only recently created his account, or hasn't played the particular mode, has played only with a friend who's stronger, or has repeatedly lost many games "on time".
Considering some of the other types of disturbing behavior you described: I've noticed there are people who join dozens, even hundreds of clubs. Have you checked if they were in some cases actually working for your opponent team? You might see them quitting and rejoining a club in order to play in a match.
It's remarkable that you have documented the history of the club this way. It shows the club means a lot to you. I'll look around before inadvertently messing up something.
Thanks anyway for this quite comprehensive "welcoming package", and cheers!
Hi Cavatine. Good to hear from you. That description of the group was written by Awesomechess1729.
I hope you can resolve your issues with deep questions. Be aware that Anthony Bourdain fought all those questions for years and in the end he was so far from God that the world defeated him. We don't want that to happen to anyone else....
Nicely written ;-)
