Hello! it's me here, and i'm writing a guide on the leaderboard! want to know how i came up with the idea? You're in the right place then. Without further ado...
Part 1. What's the LB? & Backstory
The LB is probably the most unique feature of the club. It's a possibilty to see the ratings of *some* club members in real time. It's an opportunity to see ratings go up and down. It's a motivation to raise your chaturaji rating.
"But i want to see how the LB looks!" Well, for the real-time list, go to the LB forum. But here's an example of how the LB looks: Solid, right?
"Where is the backstory?" Here it is. We were planing to go to a chess tourney for 11 days. Since i would not be able to do anything in the club, i was worried that the three SAs would not be able to manage the LB correctly. So i came up with the idea of making a LB guide. We decided not to play the tourney, but the idea stuck.
On to part 2.
Part 2.Notices
Notices for Admins and SAs:
1.The LB should be updated frequently.
2.The ideal time for an LB update is 1 week since the last update.
3.0.x values should be written. instead of 2501 write 2500.8 (if the user has such a rating).
Notices for members:
1. Please write your actual rating.
2. Please write 0.x values such as 2194.3.
Off to part 3.
Part 3. How to Manage The LB
1. How to add members. Adding members is easy. you can see, i added "bishopg2" as an example.
2. How to remove members. this is also easy.
i have removed a member by simply deleting their name from the LB.
3. How to search and add a members rating. i have gone into the archive and found the players rating. Now you're ready to edit the rating. You may have noticed the "+17" (indicated by the yellow arrow). That's the rating change since the last update.
4. how to figure out rating change. In our example, the rating was 2641 but now it's 2658. All you have to do is put this into a calculator: 2658-2641=17. So you write +17. If a player has lost rating, do the same thing. e.g 2329-2303=26 so write -26 in that case. If a player's rating stayed the same, write +0.
5. how to edit member placement.
Iet's say that the rating of "gardent490" rose up to 2265.0, while the ratings of "Bird-Seed", "GellartGrindelwald", and "Danny2-8-4" stayed the same. In this case, we would eliminate the "gardent490" username: and assign it in it's new position:
Conclusion.
It can be hard to manage the LB, but everything is possible.
