Well, if you look at the difference in how Biblical texts and themes are treated in schools and places like court-houses since earlier times in American history, it probably won't seem quite as irrelevant, but actually I wasn't using that quote to further any argument at all. I just thought it seemed relevant to the theme of collective prejudice in general, and the frequent malignment of the individual (as the basic unit of society) by those who wish to see an ideological conformity across everyone in society.

To change subjects a little, Kai, do you think you could advise me on the correct pronunciation of the author Cixin Liu's name, and have you ever heard of his book The Three-Body Problem? I'm about halfway through the first book of the trilogy, and I think it's pretty interesting.

I'm no expert on bible texts and themes but I know that Florida doesn't let most teachers talk about evolution or gender because our government is a religious asshole.

I think the correct pronunciation would be she-shing Lu, and I have heard of The Three Body Problem but I know nothing about it.
