yeah ik, it just isn't your traditional opening which takes the center with the pawn first before fianchettoing (is that the verb of fianchetto, or is fianchetto already a verb???)

I expected better from someone who thinks they can defeat Magnus Carlsen.

The whole point of the opening is to provoke black into overextending  in which white can pressure and attack the weaknesses.
