The power of the Traxler

Despite having a commanding lead over my opponent the entire game, he was what felt like just moments away from checkmating me. I played the fried liver, he played the powerful traxler defense. As you can see, he had me on the ropes all game despite my sizable piece advantage over him. None of my pieces were developed, which made defending very difficult. If it weren’t for his queen blunder, I think he may have checkmated me.

The traxler is super powerful! What did my opponent do wrong that prevented him from getting mate earlier?
