The Queens Gambit

So I wanna start being more educational in this club as well as having fun so today we're going to discuss The Queen's Gambit and the best way to fight against it. The Queen's Gambit is like all gambits, it begins with an offer to sacrifice material. In this case, white offers a wing pawn in exchange for better control of the center. It's called the Queen's Gambit because it begins with the queen's pawn (as opposed to the King's Gambit, which starts with 1. e4). Now, the best way to counter it would be The Ragozin Variation. It is the most popular way (similar to Nimzo-Indian Defense) to decline the Queen's Gambit. It is characterized by pinning the c3 knight and indirectly putting pressure on e4. Black gains a lead in development and his strategic problem is the c8 bishop, which can be solved with either c5 or e5. Well, that's it for Gambit's Friday Chess Lessons. As you would assume now, I'm doing one every Friday. Well, bye!
