Born with a very unusual 'deformity' crystals grow out of Zerkonia's head instead of hair. Hard as rock, and appearing to be diamond, several times someone has attempted to steal the crystals, by stealing his head! (a skilled eye, will see that the crystals are actually of no value) His parents became so concerned they sent him to a cloistered school to become a cleric of light.

But the light was boring and school, like a prison. He developed the skills of a trickster, and spent his time studying dragons. Until he could finally escape, and face the world on his own. But with a hat....of course.
