The Soka Gakkai is an international lay Buddhist association that has the objective of achieving world peace, Kosen rufu, through the human revolution of each person.
It promotes peace, culture and education by basing its values on the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism.
Nichiren Daishonin
At the basis of the practice of the Soka Gakkai, as indicated by Nichiren Daishonin, is the invocation (Nam) of the Law of Life, the title (daimoku) of the Lotus Sutra (Myōhō Renge Kyō).
The Mystic Law So chanting Daimoku "NAM MYOHO RENGHE KYO" and the daily reading (gongyō) of key passages from the Second and Sixteenth chapters of the Lotus Sutra in front of the Gohonzon.
The Gohonzon is the object of worship for the observation of one's mind, which acts as a mirror of our life and reminds us that the deluded common mortal is originally a Buddha. By polishing one's life through prayer one can bring out the Buddha nature.
Becoming happy by realizing one's life, practicing respect and propagating the values of Buddhism to build a better world are the mission of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth. Daisaku Ikeda, leader of the Soka Gakkai, is the spiritual mentor who made the spread of Buddhism throughout the world possible. Influential pacifist, philosopher, educator, he dedicated his life to this great purpose.

Pulendo il proprio secchio interiore attraverso la invocazione di NAM MYOHO RENGHE CHIO' si può fare emergere la natura di Budda dalla propria Vita. Diventare felici realizzandosi, ognuno a modo suo, praticare il rispetto e propagare questi valori per costruire un mondo migliore sono in sostanza la missione dei devoti buddisti (chiamati nel Sutra del Loto Bodhisattva della Terra).
