While we have all been asleep...  Check this out!  It's not what you think!

Steven Kwast | The Urgent Need for a U.S. Space Force  (Hillsdale College - 1:06:24)  Talk begins about 4-5 minutes in (after introduction).

Steven L. Kwast is a retired Air Force general and former commander of the Air Education and Training Command at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in astronautical engineering, he holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He is a past president of the Air Force’s Air University in Montgomery, Alabama, and a former fighter pilot with extensive combat and command experience. He is the author of the study, “Fast Space: Leveraging Ultra Low-Cost Space Access for 21st Century Challenges.”

I have listened to this three times already. It seems the general was held back until his retirement a few months back.

This is pretty interesting.

Does it have to do with chess? If it does have to do with chess I don't quite understand how. Can someone explain if so? Either way it is quit interesting! Thanks for showing everyone.happy.png

P.S. if you are reading this and are reluctant to watch the video I strongly think you should! ( As long as your parents say yes!!)

Hey Asher,

You are correct... thumbup.png the Space Force has nothing to do with chess... The whole point of this group is to go beyond 'just chess!'  Chess players have a wide variety of other interests and may share them in this group.  It is my belief that the idea of "Space... the final frontier..." (a theme from the original TV series "Star Trek") is now becoming a reality that you, and the generations that follow, will be able to experience.

While I will not be there to share in that new universe of opportunity, you (and my other students) probably will be.  It is something to think about... and study, and possibly participate in.  If you do, don't forget to take chess with you. happy.png
