The V-KG, also known as the VG: Max Lange, V GA, is a super aggressive opening. It goes on its close cousin- the KG. The KG is of course regarded as dubious and unsound by many people and so of course that also applies to the V-KG. Here is what it is:
The V-KG leads to the Hamppe-Muzio and Hamppe-Allgaier Gambits, as well as the Steinitz and Pierce Gambits. In most of the lines white basically gets a KG with Nc3 and Nc6 added in:
If you look closer into the lines you see more and more similarity with KG. there is one main difference the two knights on c3 and c6, in this following line black's knight on c6 makes a huge difference:
