There's no such thing as treason

People, friends, chess community and even foes! We should establish this once and for all. Treason in FFA games doesn't exist.

People often forget that the game is about winning and if you think that, at one point, turning against your opposite will benefit you then you have to go for it. Of course it is not a pleasant feeling seeing that your queen is being captured by your opposite but grow f*cking up. This is not a game for the weakhearted. Some players start to shout immediately : "Treason, treason!" and start swearing your entire existence. Of course he will attack you if it benefits him. Remember, this is a strategy game. If you don't know what strategy means then search for it but in essence it means playing for the best outcome that benefits YOU. Not your opposite. However, if you want to be second I don't mind at all. I'd love to have you as my opposite but don't cry and expect me to be fully loyal because that's not how it works. Being emotional just shows how weak a man (or woman) is.

Hopefully in the next games you guys can set aside your emotions and play with intelligence only. With that said, good luck all in your upcoming games.

That's exactly what I wrote a few days ago. I am sick and tired of people playing as a team with the opposite player and then being satisfied by staying second. I am always happy when I witness a treason behavior since I find it better than the "teaming" behavior.

Yeah I read it and I concur with you. Players have no obligation to save their opposite. They are not responsible for them. It is surely a nice act to support your opposite if the sides are working together but that doesn't mean you have become BFF's. Reinforcing your ally out of altruism is, to be honest, dumb. This way you will only guarantee a tap to the shoulder alongside with a second place in the game. And your opposite will be laughing out loud at the top of his lungs because you made him first. He will take you for a fool and gladly play opposite to you because he knows you're too "loyal". Meanwhile he will claim a place in the leaderboard and you will keep struggling in the 1500 pool. But hey you are loyal, you are nice so it doesn't matter grin.png (sarcasm)

play solo then.

playing for 2nd and being loyal is a valid (and i think very good) FFA strategy. the fact that many don't like it doesn't really change anything. it was discussed for months earlier this year, and the only solution that emerged was Solo/Only one winner.

I totally agree with you.

To begining, how many different opinions we have untill now? A lot of counts with the same owner...
Some people say: "it's just a game". Well, in the context of a game, any game, you can know the "sprit" of your "opponent" or your "allie". I agree, we should look for a win. But. I won't attack that one who has saved me. A lot of people even don't realize when other one help them. I think I realize. A game is a game, yes. My style, my way of thinking, my behavior is... me?
