In my zip code, according to the data in that link (the public impact dashboard) about one in every 30 people has been infected & tested positive over since March (it's about 20 weeks). It shows about 1,500 cases and the zip code has about 45,000. It's still young, this epidemic. I don't have a comparison to know the actual vs. reported infections.
Thoughts about Covid-19

Hi there, sorry for being away so long without saying something, I was so chess-tired. Thanks Rocky for starting this discussion and thank you all for providing insight into your country! Really interesting to hear about the situation in the US.
Here in Germany most people are doing what the government says (yes, we have a bunch of people thinking the other way, too, but Prussian training still is in us...)
The cases of really I'll people with heavy symptoms is still low here. For a lot of people this leads to the impression, that there is no Pandemie at all, since they personally don't know anyone with symptoms. Some argue, that it's all a plot to get a computer chip into our body with the medicaments against Covid when they claim to have that. I'm working in the health care sector and those arguments are strange for me due to the cases I see. However, at least it's easy to show the hardliners that chipping isn't necessary, I just sure them what kind of information they give WhatsApp, that normally ends the discussion and gets them thinking about how freely they spread their data and what other things political opponents may tell them about Covid what doesn't make sense. I believe that spreading knowledge and common sense helps to fight the pandemiy...
Thanks for the note Cavatine. The rate of new cases per day in Alabama coninues to decline, but we still have hundreds of new cases every day. About a month ago it was 1900 new cases oer day, Now it is about 800 to 900 per day.
