Time for a new/changed Libertarian group?

I think the somewhat narrow focus of this group is missing out on a lot of people who might be interested in libertarian ideas but not the US Libertarian party per se.

To be precise, I think it is missing out on those outsdide the US and those who don't see the Libertarian party within the US as a viable/worthwhile means of investment given the makeup ("two party", "first past the post", etc.) of the US electoral system. Indeed, it might even be missing out on liberty-minded peoples who don't believe that political action is the prime way to change the world...

As such, I suggest this group expand its scope to cover Libertarian ideas in general, ones that would interest and attract people world-wide who might utilize this site. Either that or that someone here (not myself) start up a new libertarian group that covers a wider scope if the founders of this group are highly dedicated to the single cause of the US Libertarian party.

I think that the change I suggest would do much more to promote libertarianism - both inside the US (see Ron Paul for example) and outside the US - than this group currently is.

They need to send out some more invites with what you say there on the home page.

Perhaps, but I still think that an enlarged scope (beyond the US and beyond the US Libertarian party) would be wise - and perhaps even necessary - as well

So this group should become that way.

I tend to agree, though it's really up to the Super-Admin whether or not it does.

We need to tell him to pull his thumb out, and do something to make the group active or we'll just start another one.

Well, I have put the idea out there in a couple of places.

I would join a group if you created one, assuming it is kept civil and fairly intelligent...

Let's discuss it with the SA first, and see what he has to say.
