Black has a decent position, but should be very careful. What are white threatening, and what is the best way to deal with it?

White is threatening Ng5, h6 (to stop the mate) and Nxe6 forking Queen and Rook. I would play g6 and Qe7 to unite my defenders.

Yes, indeed you are right. But you have to be careful: You are permanently weakening your castling. I think it might be better to consider moves that don't weaken castling until it's really necessary. Can you see any alternatives?

Could be, but White will want to play g4 at some point, and Black's Queen will be vulnerable diagonally and on the g-file.

Wait, if the N was on f8, it stops everything. Re8, Ng5, Nf8
