Some great advice here. I think the most useful one is to find the most awkward colour for your opponent. The colour might change during the game as they adjust to your strategy, however in my experience a lot of games are won by forcing "bad" moves from your opponent. Of course, you need to be aware of any awkward colours for you as well.
