I think only the top three teams can decide. But the number of rounds should have been fixed from the beginning. As an opinion, Romania Chess Federation agrees with 7 rounds. But I repeat, the ranking must be updated and the teams on the first three positions will decide.

Exactly like you said. Numbers of rounds was declared in beginning of the season, so in my modest opinion should remain like that. 5 rounds and finish.
Next season everything could change, always when the season starts.

Number of round was NOT declared in the beginning of the season - so we have problem anyway. Either choice is problematic in a way.
With 14 teams, 7 rounds are optimal.
However at the start of the season we had only 12 teams registered, 2 of them joined only later (after round 1 - Team Belgium and English Chess Federation), so it makes sense to have planned 6 rounds from the start of season based on 12 initially registered clubs. That's why I am surprised with round 5 being announced as final.
If captains of top 3 clubs (or all clubs) should vote for playing more than 5 rounds, Srbija Tim vote is YES.
Though, I believe that decision should be made by ALL teams, and that voting should be if we want to have only 6 rounds or to play 7th as well (based on additional teams that joined).

Ok, my mistake.
I was convinced that it was decided from the beginning. Now I see that the rules do not declare the number of rounds.

In current season, number of turns was not declared at the beginning because in Swiss tournaments this number is usually given by log(2) N, where N is the number of teams, that means 4 in our case (minimum). The adhesion of 2 more teams on the run could have changed the relative strenght of teams, so adding 1 turn seemed right to me, but adding more is good, expecially for middle-standing teams.
Therefore, I ask ALL captains to vote, choosing: a) if they want to stop now, b) if they want to play 1 more turn, c) if they want to play 2 more turns, or d) if any choice is good .
The situation now (if I can assume the vote of Tudorache for Team Romania):

Sorry, I was not precise above. You are right about minimum acceptable rounds for Swiss tournament, and what I was talking about is maximum acceptable rounds for a Swiss tournament (you cannot predict 7 rounds for 12 or 13 teams starting, because it is more than rounded half) - IMO we aimed for 7 rounds, the same it was planned for previous seasons when it was available, and that's why I think that with 12 teams starting it should've been planned to play 6 rounds in total. Now with 2 more teams joining, it only makes more sense to use 6 as number of rounds, because it's not really optimal to have 7 (with 2 teams missing 1 round and also some unresponsive teams in first 5 rounds).
How is the voting going? 3 Teams voted for the same option but we didn't hear anyone else - was there reminder sent to all captains to make sure to vote, or we are considering not voting as voting for "Any choice" - so effecetively counting only votes that prefer 1 out of 3 suggested options?

The deadline has expired. 3 teams voted for playing one more turn, 1 team voted to stop now, the other 10 teams didn't vote, so we may assume that any choice is good for them. Therefore, the decision is taken to play 1 more round of LCML Season 3. In the next hours I will post the announcement. Thank you.
Dear all, on February 19th we should have completed Round 5 of the LCML. Five turns in a Swiss tournament with 14 teams are considered good enough to show up the real balance of strenght between the teams. Nevertheless, last season was played on 7 turns, so an option is to end also season 3 after seven turns. Since the number of turns has not been stated at the beginning of this season, we shall make a decision now.
I kindly ask all teams that would like to play 6th and 7th turn to post a note in favour here. If the majority of teams wants to go to seven turns, then the Season will go on until the end of March, otherwise the Season will close next Sunday. Please make your choice within the next 6 days (deadline Saturday 18th, 21:00 CET).
