A friendly foe, respect well-earned.

And shared some tips on kings and queens.

I met a guy from far Ukraine,
He taught me tricks in endgame strain.
A girl in Chile played so sly,
And beat me blind—I can’t deny.

Some just stayed for one quick game,
But others stuck, and knew my name.
We talked of life, not just e4,
Of books and dogs and dreams and more.

So now I log in not to win,
But see old friends and check back in.
For chess, it seems, is more than moves—
It’s hearts and minds that it improves.
