So, anyone tried it?

I'm using it right now, and man, it rocks! Almost everything else worked out of the box, and even what didn't I could fix almost immediately with a few commands or clicks!

How was your experience?

Nice to hear this from you JP, I'm using 9.04 but was waiting for a opinion about the 9.10. Did you upgraded version from update manager or reinstalled? Because from 8.0 to 9.04 I had problems to simple upgrade, but reinstall worked good.

I upgraded my desktop with the RC and my netbook with the finally release. When I first booted it I was very impressed! It's so slick, polished and fast!  Huge improvement over jaunty! It's really fast on my netbook! Agreed Ubuntu 9.10 rocks!!!

I recommend to anyone thinking of upgrading to do a reinstall instead of a upgrade form the update manager. It seems a lot of people been having trouble with the upgrading to 9.10 with the update manager.

Yea, I always recommend people to fresh install. For every release, since the very first that implemented upgrade over the internet, which I don't remember which was, people have reported system crashes, data loss and all kinds of problems with drivers.

But fresh installs have always worked fine.

I have upgraded to it since alpha 5. It works fine but there is some problem with mounting usb flash drives. i think it is because of upgrades.
I am planning to do a fresh install today. I have been upgrading since 8.10 :)

Using it right now!  I upgraded over the internet (yes-a fresh install usually is best, but I've had luck doing it this way and find it easier when there's time!)

I still have a couple of boxes to go...

Nothing is really better. It does everything if did before just as well. The improvements are on things non-functional... For example, boot is like 20 seconds faster (on my notebook, it varies), the notification system is smarter, new default instant messenger. I mean, the differences are subtle, and do not impact the day-to-day use, that's what I mean by non-functional.
