RULES & REGULATIONS of UFL:
ULTRA FLASH LEAGUE = 24 hours per Move CLUB MATCH CHAMPIONSHIP
This competition was created to spread daily FLASH CHESS (1 Day per Move) world between the chess clubs around Chess.com, so have some joyful time by developing YOUR chess skills & knowledge as well
1.) Tournament Format:
- Upcoming seasons will be a Round-Robin for all divisions.
- Each division includes 8 clubs participants.
- 7 rounds per season.
- In each division 3 teams promote + 3 teams relegate.
2.) The governing & control boards/bodies of the League
- The Executive Board of our league will arrange the divisions according to the current strength of the individual chess clubs + will lead/run/manage this competition conscientiously in accordance with the rules and regulations + make sure that representative administrators should be informed about all issues on time.
- The Supervisory Board of the league will examine the validity of the decision made by Executive Board.
- The Disciplinary Commission of the league will sanction any irregularities in the conduct of this competition.
3.) Challenge Issue:
- On the challenge date for each round in the tournament, the left-hand or first-mentioned team in each pairing must send the challenge to the opposing team (But both teams are free to send that), which must promptly check and then accept it.
- If the opposing team does not receive a challenge within one day after the announcement, then they should not continue to wait but must themselves issue the challenge, and the other team must promptly check and then accept it.
- If the match won`t start for registration after 5 days after the announcement, one or both teams will lose the match by forfeit.
4.) Calendar:
- Team matches will start on 7th day at all even months (+ September) of the year:
- Feb 7
- Apr 7
- Jun 7
- Aug 7
- Sep 7
- Oct 7
- Dec 7
- So we have 7 rounds (8 clubs) per each division.
- The challenge issues must not be sent sooner than the rounds announcements. Any matches that start sooner than the calendar, it must be cancelled and it will not be counted
- The Admins are not permitted to lock the roaster before the matches start on its proper time. Any report of locking roaster from the other side of match may cause the match forfeited for the guilty one and the other team get the point.
5.) The scoring system:
- Win: 1 point; Draw: 0,5 points; Loss: 0 points
- If the teams equal to the number of points, Sonneborn–Berger score will be used as tie-breaker. If still equal, they share places.
- p.s. The Sonneborn–Berger score (or the Neustadtl score) is a scoring system often used to break ties in chess tournaments. It is computed by summing the conventional score of each defeated opponent, and half the conventional score of each drawn opponent (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonneborn%E2%80%93Berger_score).
6.) Removal of Player:
- All members including representatives are free to play for multiple teams and there is no limitation for that.
- Teams must not remove players from their roster to obtain a more favorable line-up. If you see a team doing this please report it to the relevant division admin along with evidence, preferably in the form of a screenshot. The HQ would decide about the right penalty for that (whether lose some points or may lose the match by forfeit).
- Note: In some cases if the site close an account for cheating and the member is still on the roaster the admins can remove that player by alerting the ULTRA FLASH LEAGUE admin before that
- Teams must not prohibit lower rated players from joining the match. If you see a team doing this please report it to the relevant division admin, this will be checked by HQ based on differences of statistical data between that match and other matches of that team. The HQ would decide about the right penalty for that.
- p.s. The only exception to this rule is that admins are allowed to remove any player from their team who has a 15% or greater timeout percentage.
7.) Closure of Player Accounts:
- Any points received by a team from a player whose chess.com account has been closed between the beginning of a match and the final result of tournament will be cancelled, and their games will be scored as 0 – 2 in favor of the opposing player
- In case the accounts of both players have been closed, the games between them will be scored as zero for both teams.
8.) Behavior:
- Disrespectful behavior, wherever it happens, will not be tolerated and will lead to the perpetrators being warned once and then banned from the ULTRA FLASH LEAGUE = 24 hours per Move CLUB MATCH CHAMPIONSHIP.
9.) Minimum number of players per Divisions:
- Consistent with the number of divisions that will participate in the upcoming season we will decide the minimum number of players the club needs to collect to start the match.
- For example:
- FLASH 1 (DIVISION 1) = 12+ players per Club
- FLASH 2 (DIVISION 2) = 10+
- FLASH 3 (DIVISION 3) = 7+
- FLASH 4 (DIVISION 4) = 5+
- FLASH 5 (DIVISION 5) = 3+
- The teams that until the start date failed to gather enough players will receive a strike. The teams that receive three strikes will be disqualified from the competition, indeed!
p.s. One YOUR smile is worth a thousand words, so i hope for further fruitful cooperation between us chess enthusiasts on long runMartina
