Uncommon 2nd moves

Ok! Here are the alteratives to 2... Qxd5 and 2... Nf6:

2... c6

The 3rd most popular move. The plan is:

3. dxc6        Nxc6

There is also an offshoot I read about on the forums called the reversed Danish:

3. dxc6     e5

4.cxb7    Bxb7

2... e5

I belive this is called the Bohenke gambit. It is a fairly good idea. This is the "main line:

3.dxe6 e.p      Bxe6

Also:

2... e6

This is my invention, but I belive it to be inferior. I have never played it. Play is similar to the Bohenke gambit, only in the Bohenke, if White does not recapture, Black gains a central pawn. In my creation (I call it the accelerated Icelandic!), Black gets none of this.

I will present the statistics for all of Black's 2nd moves in a later post.

I have also made a new invention, but I will do analysis for a few days and get back to you.

ps:

My new "invention is 2... c5.

I always liked the Icelandic Gambit.

It is a surprise cause no one seems to play it.

It is worth checking out.

1.e4 d5

2.exd5 Nf6

3.c4 e6

4.dxe6 Bxe6

I often play the Icelandic. I will create a forum for discussion and analysis.

Thanks for the diagram, chuckward.  I just the diagram to illustriate how the moves goes for others.

For white after 4... Bxe6, I have heard both of these as main lines:

5. Nf3

and

5. Be2   Nc6

6. Nf3

Kingfisher
What follows after 5.Nf5?

I would assume that after 5. Nf3, 5... Nc6 is a good answer, with possible transpositions to main line #2.
