Of important note is that, if current adjustments hold, we actually came away with a victory against Canada in the Rapid. If we can come away with two wins against Argentina, that would really strengthen our position to qualify for the Division 2 winner's bracket (top 4 teams qualify). We have 3 matches in the Pan American Live Chess League this weekend - two in the main blitz cup and one in the U1600 event. All will be exceptionally challenging.
On Saturday March 13, at 5:30 pm Pacific, 8:30 pm Eastern, we will face Puerto Rico in the LCPAL Blitz Cup! Puerto Rico are a very strong team (I can't recall the last time we beat them), and we will need all hands on deck to be competitive. Match time and link:
Then, on Sunday March 14, at 4 pm Pacific, 7 pm Eastern, we will face Peru in a rescheduled LCPAL Blitz Cup match. Peru are even stronger than Puerto Rico, and we will need 50+ players to have any chance of pulling out an upset win. Match time and link:
