V3 bug regarding focus mode

I think I have this bug figured out now.
But of course I can't fix it.  And I can't bug report it either -
because the focus mode screen is "clean".
So I'll begin with a screenshot of it.  Later - if need be - I'll do a Snip of it too.

@Erik or whoever:
Do you see how the unfocus button is misplaced within the board?
Its up there on the c1 square in this example.
If Black was at top - it would be f8.

But that's not the major part of the bug.
If it happens that there's a piece on that square - you can't use that button.
Because it thinks you're trying to move a piece instead.
So it seems the solution is to get that button well over to right and off the board.
Where it used to be and where it belongs.
Otherwise - members can't switch back to regular game mode to go over the game after.
The only way out the way it is now - is to get out of fullscreen and hit the back button.
Killing the game.

This bug is new - and followed immediately after you fixed the timer glitch ...
with both clocks only partially showing the whole time.

Yikes!!

This is a nice explanation, though, playerafar.

@MTJC
I found a crazy workaround to fix it though -
Erik likes to hide buttons under empty space ....
So there is actually another button - under the settings wheel in the middle there ...
An "Invisible Button"  that gets the game out of Focus Mode.
Lol!  It only appears if you know where to hover the cursor.
There's a third one there too.  Hidden.

You know how much JustADude and Ace just love the buttons you Can Seediamond.png
Yes I'm being sarcastic ...

Don't you just love Erik's invisible buttons MTJC?
Don't you wish everybody did?
(From old Dial Soap commercial)
I Wish they All could be California Hidden? (Beach Boys)
Far out Dude - Gnarly.

LOL yes I remember those commercials.  WHY in the world would you put ANYTHING within the border of the chess board??

@MTJC - I think the visible button wasn't put there deliberately ...
inside the chess board - that's a glitch.

But I can tell you that the other two buttons are intentionally where they are - and hidden.
Do you see in the screenshot - the tiny settings wheel in the top middle?
The two hidden buttons are there under empty screen space - just below that little wheel.
That's intentional by erik.
He has told me so.  Claims they're for "power users".

Now erik's a clever man.  How could one fault him?  And he's a "big wheel".
At this point its mainly entertainment for me on those hidden buttons.
I believe they'll stay that way too.  No worries.

At first glance, I missed that tiny wheel.  Looked again and saw it.  Perhaps Erik felt that if you wanted to change your settings, you might just stumble onto those hidden buttons?

@MJTC
Did you hover the cursor in the empty space below that tiny wheel?
Did you see the other two buttons magically appear when you did so?
That's not the only place in the site where that stuff happens.
There's at least two other places.  The list might even be long.

And its funny to me for so many reasons -
one of them is that JAD and Ace and Kam don't complain about it -
because they don't see it.  They don't know they're there.
They may not even know about focus mode.
Which is a valuable feature that I think many probably use.
If they know it exists!  happy.png
Maybe more than half of members that know it exists - use it.
But maybe less than half know its there.  Let alone the hidden buttons.
But Erik is also the one who's providing a magnificent chess website.
Chess.com is probably the best chess site.

And another idea -  hide the buttons.   With that actual idea in mind.
For those who like to complain - how do they do so if they don't know they exist?

LOL!!  Your reasoning makes sense.   To hide or not to hide.  That is the question.

As I have not played many games in the several years I have been on this site, I also had no idea regarding the focus and other buttons you have mentioned.  The screen shot you included was quite beneficial.

For some reason - Erik doesn't just publish a glossary of all the buttons on chess.com.
My latest idea as to why not -
is that if somebody's system doesn't show whatever button (when its intended by erik to be seen)
then he'll get a zillion complaints.
So no glossy glossary.
