Variant Rule Experiment (Takeover + Stonewall)

I used the Takeover rule and the Stonewall rule in the same variant. The first army I checkmated turned into red pieces (my color), but the other two turned to stone. Does anyone know why that is?

post link?

The first army was all Wazirs, the next had only pawns left when I checkmated it, and the third was just a king. noahfavelo, I can't post a link because my archive doesn't work. Other people might be able to access it though.

Yes, that's the game. Why did the pieces become red but not the pawns and royal?

Dranyam00

Why not?

And the pawns?

pawns are not promoted (i think) because of the way promotion rank works, if they were, you could be in a place that you would capture a pawn, and immediately get to promote it, if it was on your promotion rank.

When Takeover and stonewall are enabled at same time then the checkmated royal piece and all pawn and pawn variants of the same color become bricks

yes, we had established that. We're wondering why that happens to pawns, when they could just be taken over.

Because if pawns changed colors instead of becoming bricks then its most likely that they all would be stuck on the same place unless if they are berolina pawns or stone generals or/and the “sideways” rule is enabled
