If the cube says the king move and the king cannot move, it's a lose.

I think it would remove most of the strategy from the game. The main part of chess is anticipating and responding to opponents moves. If you remove that element the game depends too much on chance. A similar game is "No Stress Chess" which depends are drawn cards to move pieces. The name does not reflect on play...

no it doesn't you still decide which direction to move the piece and how far but still -1
