I think self paterning is more easy than teams because we always get on with ourself, and not with someone else.

this guy means 1 player plays 2 sets vs 2 players playing 1 set each
Please add the 8th rank for pawn promotion on an 8x8 board. The game I'm attempting to code in the system starts with royal pawns in each of the 4 corners (Sergeants actually), which promote to an Empress/Queen when they reach the 8th rank (any other color's homebase). It would also be helpful if Pawns/Sergeants (omnidirectional pawn) could initiate movement toward any 8th rank for promotion in a 4PC setup. FYI, the game is called "Princess." It looks like this: https://www.chess.com/variants/custom/game/38610147

The system makes too many assumptions about what anyone would even try to code in it, and 64% of these are not particularly correct. For example, you may able to code a game with early pawn promotions, but the system assumes you still want to oblige it and bind it to one rank.

Default is 8th
When I change the setting to default in a 4PC setup, the Pawn/Sergeant in some corners (but not others) promotes on the first move off its original position.

That's because red and yellow pawns are initially placed on the 8th rank.

I don't get the game example, but i'm guessing the point is that with sideways pawn, pawns that start off on the promotion rank promote when moved sideways

I checked it out, thanks for playing! Do you think it's fun?
Yes, I see your point, but the 8th rank is supposed to be relative to each corner. So, if red reaches the blue, yellow, or green "homebase," then it promotes to an Empress/Queen. Is there a way to make that happen in here?
I looked through most of the rules variations and cannot see how to make it happen. Thanks for your help in advance.

No, it's currently not possible to have custom squares promotion; only ranks relative to seats.

Thanks @qilp - I appreciate the response. Any other way to make what I'm trying to do work?

Well, as long as the position is in the center 8x8 of the board, 11th promotion should work.
Ok, guys.
Can we please fix the coordinates for boards over 8x8?
It is messing me up and driving me insane.
(Also please allow naturally dead pieces to be affected by Crazyhouse rules)
Please?

Yes!! Coming soon.

You can do this by using bounty pieces.
Making dead pieces work and behave as bounty pieces for crazyhouse specifically is an overkill.
We can, however, consider implementing a feature that makes players turn into bounty pieces instead of dead when eliminating; this would be quite powerful and helpful (as well as solving your problem if it's related to dead players during the game).

Can we also fix early pawn promotions?
Trying to implement them in Crazyhouse messes them up.
I have a proposal for a new chess variant. The queen would be able to jump over 1 piece in a move almost like a knight however it can not check the king through another piece to avoid in order to much of an advantage the second change is that when the king is put in check it is able to double move but it can not move through check or into check additionally the king can not capture the piece that originally put it into check. I am still playing around with the idea but let me know what you think of it so far. If you have any other suggestions for the variant let me know.
This new idea builds off of another one.
Checkmate Exception: This is only paired with Taboo. If you turn on the “Taboo” button, there should be a checker called “Checkmate Exception”, which will ban all checks except checkmate. That allows us to create the “Checkless Chess” Combo.
@Boorchess In my opinion, you can make a mostly similar variant by setting up all the pawns on their regular spots and then giving each player 31 points of "Setup" with a queen, rook, bishop, knight, and king. However, I do know that it is currently not possible to make each player use exactly one queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights, and a king.
By the way, this is a rule used in a lot of variants on PyChess, which I thought would benefit tons of people:
Different Line Kings -- in 2PC, this means both kings have to be on different files at all times. Think of it as the kings covering each other's movement options like rooks. Using his rule in 3PC or 4PC is much harder, but here are my proposals:
In 3PC, none of the kings are allowed to share a file with each other, regardless of whatever colors both the kings are.
In 4PC, your king cannot be on the same file (or rank as a cool color) as your opposite only, but you can share a file/rank with any other king. When one player is checkmated, the 3PC version of Different Line Kings is used.
i would like a 2v1 4 player chess with one self partnering team
