Vote chess guidelines

Please take notice:

In our vote games, if it is a one day per move game, we want to wait till the clock is on 12 hours or less before we vote.

If it is a 2 days or 3 days per move game, please do NOT vote until the clock is on 24 hours or less. We need time to discuss and find the best move.

Please don't vote early! But if it is the first 2 or 3 moves in a game, early voting is OK.

Also, if you see a move good enough to win your vote, please tell the rest of us about it in the comments of the game. We should not see votes for a move that has never been mentioned in the comments.

Also be aware that your vote is not secret. In v3 once a person voes, they can see who have voted for each move and when they voted.

Thanks!  Smile

Let's also try to explain a bit of reasoning behind our vote, with lines/diagrams if you know how to do those. This has two benefits: It lets you check your logic as you're typing it out, and if someone sees that your logic is flawed, they can refute it and you can learn something, as well as warn other people away from voting for that move/line.

Let me repeat.

Don't vote for a move that has not been discussed in the coments, please.

We have more than one player who will not follow the guidelines stated above. Some players have been banned already.

More to come.

I should add: In rare cases where there is obviously THE ONE best move, the vote chess leader and Admin (in other words, me) can waive the "wait before you vote move" and declare in the comments secion that there is no need to wait to vote for this move.

I need to pin this to the top, but I don't think I can....

New players are welcome to our vote games, but must follow these guidelines.

I would add, communicate only in English.

I am trying to figure out how to pin this subject to the top of the list....

but the first votes are usually a matter of taste. 1. d4, e4, c4, f4, Nf3, b3 are good moves. But once I tried 1. a3 and won with a very strong oponent..
