Was the pawn push in front of my king ok?

I pushed the pawn so that i kicked the knight so that i could fork the rooks and win material but i was taught to never move pawns in front of your king, what is a good move???

yeah , it's a rule that it's better not to push pawns in front of your king " in the middlegame" but there are always exceptions to the rule , and the exceptions are either u're gonna win material or give checkmate so here it's a good move , also remember , it's less dangerous for you to push pawns in front of ur king WHEN THE QUEENS ARE OFF THE BOARD

ok i wanted to figure out when to push the pawns in front of my kings because eventually i need my king to become active in the endgame
