WCL 2026: Division 4C

Two teams promote to Division 3.

Results may change due to ex-post corrections (see rules) until the cut-off dates on September, 30th (for relegation) and December, 31st (for the final ranking).

Welcome to the 2026 season of the WCL from me, @munrobagger your Division 4 Leagues Tournament Director (TD).

The First Round starts on November 5^th,with an Announcement of pairings on October 22^nd—a few ‘Housekeeping’ Admin matters.

For those Admins that are new to WCL, the Announcement will list the pairings for the First Round of Matches with instructions on the issuing of match challenges. Please issue and accept challenges without delay, checking that match parameters and the start time are set correctly.

It’s helpful for the TD to copy and post an issued challenge to the Forum thread.

Please note that:

A player may only play for one team in a season.

We have further clarified this rule. Each player is assigned a home team. This is the first team a player joins in a season. All games for this team are regular. If a player joins and plays for another team, these games are considered irregular multi-team games and are counted as lost.

I am finding this divison difficult to navigate currently. Wouldn't it be better for all the admins if the team names were accurately displayed in forum, rather than shortenings or local names?

Maybe lead to fewer mistakes and less frustration? I would certainly find it less confusing.

Hmm... 2026 no real difference from 2025 and I don't recall any significant issues last year. I'm not sure what the issues are to be honest. Yes, team names can be a little confusing but we are dealing with a world wide, multi-national, multi-language customer base often with clubs representing a 'city', hence name differences.

Perhaps a little different from how the CCCUKI is run, but then again no platform here is perfect.

Agree. We had 2 Perths in one division this year and caused some issues.

Admins, please actively recruit to meet the minimum player roster threshold of 5.

Not enough players: Roma vs Venezia 1-0

Kyiv has been added as 10th team to Division 4C. They are likely to be too strong for this division, but the didn't want to miss a season. We will compensate this with an additional promotion spot in Division 4C.

Please set up the Ulster vs Kyiv catch-up game with starting date November 20th (preferably).

ECL match. They have 27 and not even at strength. Ulster can’t play that. No point.

Is this the best solution to put them in division 4

Maybe not ideal. But it means there are no 'bye' rounds. And we are promoting three clubs from the Division. There are exceptional circumstances regarding clubs in Ukraine. A late entry is better than omitting them.

They need to start in a higher division. It’s not fair on these small clubs or Kyiv.

The decision has been made. Let's make the best of it.

Ok Ulster and Hobart will play. Get them to send a challenge and I will accept.
